Healthcare in Poland – a guide for migrants

Information and support Healthcare in Poland – a guide for migrants
20 January 2021

2020 showed us that we have to look after our health more than ever before. The pandemic, restrictions at medical facilities, and strained access to doctor appointments caused serious problems for all the patients, regardless of their age or ailments. Healthcare is not an area in which migrants look for support in the first place – but in the current situation it is as important as issues such as legalisation of stay or work.

That is why we would like to present a brochure listing complex descriptions of institutions and terms related to medical services available in Poland. We explain what NFZ, ZUS, SOR mean, introduce insurance variants, describe duties of general practitioners, as well as a vaccination calendar, and discuss how the gynecological care of a pregnant woman looks like. This brochure was created with the financial support provided by a grant competition of Amica S.A. – thank you very much!

We would like to answer all your questions related to healthcare, so this guide is also an introduction to the upcoming webinar about medical services in Poland. Stay tuned for more information and in the meantime, enjoy your reading. Healthcare_ENG
